Met up with the IBUKA Team in Berlin

Met up with the IBUKA Team in Berlin unfortunately only for a short time. Since I did not know when they would arrive at their hotel I just went there around noon. Francois had just checked in and he had come straight from Kigali via Brussels. The other members of the team had been in Frankfurt already for a few days and were to arrive anytime now at the hotel. And sure enough while Francois and I chatted for a few minutes, the rest of the team arrived.

It was great to say "Willkommen" to everyone as they stepped off the bus. As I had already a lunch appointment back at the FU Berlin, we decided that I join them for awhile in the afternoon at the Foreign Ministry in Berlin-Mitte. There, they were first welcomed by a German diplomat from the Foreign Ministry and then briefed on the history of Germany and the Holocaust. I had to say goodbye during a break and slip out during the briefing. The picture was taken right before I left. I am sure it will be a very interesting 10 days for them.

I am off to the airport to spend one more night at my sister's house before I go back to LA tomorrow. The trip is coming to an end.
